Layout & Cabinet Modifications

New appliance that doesn't fit? Fridge space too small? We modify existing cabinets & kitchen layouts so everything fits perfectly.

Got a new refrigerator, oven, or dishwasher that doesn’t fit your existing cabinets? Need to add a pull-out trash bin or better pantry organization? You don’t always need a full remodel. CKR handles targeted modifications that make your space work — without the disruption of starting over.

Appliance Fitting

New appliances often have different dimensions than the ones they replace. We modify your existing cabinets — trim panels, adjust openings, add filler strips, or build custom enclosures — so your new fridge, oven, microwave, or dishwasher fits perfectly.

Pull-Out Trash & Recycling

A simple upgrade that removes clutter and keeps waste organized. Custom-built to fit your base cabinet exactly.

Pull-Out Organizers

  • Pots & pans pull-outs — stop stacking, start sliding
  • Pantry pull-outs — full-depth shelves that bring everything to you
  • Spice drawer organizers — keep seasonings visible and accessible
  • Tray & baking sheet dividers — vertical storage for flat items
  • Under-sink pull-outs — maximize that awkward space
  • Soft-close mechanisms on all pull-outs

Refinishing & Refacing

Most people think refinishing means painting their cabinets. And yes — that’s one option. But refinishing is really about restoring and protecting the finish on your existing cabinets. Paint is just one path.

For natural wood cabinets, refinishing often means something different: a careful application of stain to refresh or match the existing color, followed by a protective top coat. The wood stays wood. The grain stays visible. The character is preserved — just restored.

Options:

  • Natural wood with faded finish: Stain touch-up to match existing color + top coat. No paint, no covering the grain.
  • Natural wood with heavy sun damage: Targeted stain refinish on affected doors and fronts only, top coat throughout.
  • Ready for a completely new look: Full refinish to a solid color of your choice. Complete transformation at a fraction of replacement cost.

Cabinet Refacing

Refacing gives you even more options. You get brand-new modern-style doors and drawer fronts — all with soft-close hardware — while keeping your existing cabinet boxes. We also handle cabinet modifications for wider doors or new appliances. Your kitchen looks completely different without starting over.

When Refacing Does Not Make Sense (Honest Assessment): Cabinet refacing works when the existing boxes are structurally sound. But cabinets from the 1950s through the early 2000s were often built with lower-quality materials. Rotting frames, failing joints, oversized face frames that complicate new door installation — these are things we find during our assessment.

When we find them, we don’t refrace anyway. We tell you. And more often than not, the honest recommendation is new cabinets — because that opens up something refacing never can: the opportunity to redesign your kitchen entirely.
